Austenitic cast iron with lamellar graphite
Unlike ordinary cast iron with lamellar graphite, the basic material in austenitic cast iron with lamellar graphite consists of austenite. So this material has all the positive properties of cast iron made with lamellar graphite: excellent damping properties, good thermal conductivity, and an extremely high compressive strength at the various tensile strength ratings. In addition, this material is also very resistant against corrosion caused by acid, alkaline and saline materials or other aggressive agents. This makes it ideal for use in environments where this is an issue.
